The reason that the indication of an empty identifier field leads to an import error is often tied to how the identifier is mapped during the import process. The identifier serves as a unique key for each document or record and plays a critical role in ensuring that the information is accurately integrated into the system. If the mapping of the identifier to the corresponding field in the incoming data is incorrect, the system will not be able to recognize or fill the identifier field. This results in the error being triggered, as the system expects a populated identifier to proceed with the import.

A correctly formatted document could still result in an error if the mapping of the identifier is not aligned with the expected data structure. Similarly, issues related to document size limits or incomplete workflows do not directly imply that the identifier field would be empty; they pertain to different conditions affecting the import process. Therefore, the focus on the mapping of the identifier is essential to diagnosing the specific error related to an empty identifier field.
